My internet is working and so can one of my games that relates to the internet, but I can't go on any web browsers. I'm using a D-Link 524.
I downloaded some Update from Windows XP and then I couldn't use the internet browser anymore.
I restarted, even plugged out my router, turned off firewall, nothing works. Sadly I can't even do System Restore because I didn't use it during that time. I also looked for viruses, that wasn't the answer either. Any help?
I'm no expert in computers so pretty much I'm stuck. By the way, I have 3 other computers and they work just fine. Another thing to note is that the computer DOES recieve packets but only a little...unless its from the game (for some apparent reason the online game can transmit through)
Help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Wireless Internet please help!?
Well, is your computer the main computer - the one with the router plugged into it, or one of the ones with the wireless cards?
It sounds like, from your title, it's the second and if that's the case, then this may or may not work. It works all of the time for my mom and sister. Replugging the router itself from whatever computer it's on won't help you much. Does your tower have seperate slots across the top where your wireless card can go in, or is it just that one? If it has more than one slot, take the card out from one slot, wait a few minutes, plug it into the second, see if your internet browser kicks back up. If it's the same slot, do the same thing pretty much, unplug it and wait a few minutes, plug it back in.
If this doesn't work, you might want to troubleshoot it.
**EDIT-
In that case, I'm not sure what you should do. It sounds like it could be a bit more trickier than just resetting something on your own, maybe give the guys who supply whatever internet you use (comcast, etc) a call and they can troubleshoot it on the phone with you or if it's more serious, they can make a home visit.
