How do you contact google support and talk to a LIVE person.?

I am a developer who is simply trying to develop a way for my application to check connectivity. Because Google has always responded to my pings i want my app to ping google as part of this process. However because I dont know how many people will be using this application, it may be a problem. All I need to do is speak to sombody at a number that does not end with 0000, or 4000.
